My TOP 10 Highlights in Egypt
January 12th, 2009 — english, Personal, Photos, Travel, Video
Escaping freezing Germany for a week, we took a tour to Egypt, seeing the best of Egypt in just a week (and I thought viventura tours are well stuffed…). My Photo Gallery isn’t working right now, so here’s a short Video wit the Highlights of the Tour…
In short, these are my Highlights:
- Riding a Camel behind the Giza Pyramids (the only hassle is, that they try to ripp you off, not sticking to the price agreed on at the beginning)
- Getting to Karnak Temple a seven in the morning, perfect lighting for Photography and just a few tourists
- Riding on a Felucca (a traditional sailing boat) on the Nile River
- Having some apple tobacco on a traditional Shisha
- Feeling the success of bringing a vendor down by 70% when shopping souvenirs
- Getting a “Not on the street” advise by locals when I gave my girlfriend a hug
- I’m not a museum lover, but the Tutankamon Section of the Egyptian Museum was absolutely amazing
- Observing Islam in practice, when all over the place people knee down at six towards the east for the eveing prayer
- Having a relaxing day at the beaches of the Red Sea
- having so much fun at egyptian airports (a audio demonstrationg it will follow)

An historic Speech

Now, it’s not only time to celebrate to have a new President of the US. But also to have the first afro-american president, I’m sure we’ll look back to this date for some decades to come.
So here in a few words the speech af Barack Obama, the elected president:
And for those who have 17 spare minutes, here’s the Video:
Surf like the Chinese
October 28th, 2008 — english, Internet, Politics, Video
I still haven’t written my overall summary of China, hope I get to this soon. One of the aspects will be Internet. Today I got to know a Plugin for Firefox that got my interest:
What does it do?
The Firefox add-on China Channel offers internet users outside of China the ability to surf the web as if they were inside mainland China. Take an unforgetable virtual trip to China and experience the technical expertise of the Chinese Ministry of Information Industry (supported by western companies). It’s open source, free and easy.
So, if you would like to surf like the Chinese, get the Plugin here:
