Trip to Piedra Blanca

I can’t even remember when I had my last night in a tent… Must have been somewhere in Patagonia some years ago. Adriana is a nature-lover, so this weekend we finally had our first camping expirience. We went to “Piedra Blanca” a well accessible “reserva natural”. It’s just about an hours drive from our apartment. And it’s just going up, and up, and up. It’s about 900 metres above Medellin and the climate and scenery is comparable to the one in Bogota.

Enough said, here are some pics from the weekend…

My TOP 10 Highlights in Egypt

Escaping freezing Germany for a week, we took a tour to Egypt, seeing the best of Egypt in just a week (and I thought viventura tours are well stuffed…). My Photo Gallery isn’t working right now, so here’s a short Video wit the Highlights of the Tour…

In short, these are my Highlights:

  1. Riding a Camel behind the Giza Pyramids (the only hassle is, that they try to ripp you off, not sticking to the price agreed on at the beginning)
  2. Getting to Karnak Temple a seven in the morning, perfect lighting for Photography and just a few tourists
  3. Riding on a Felucca (a traditional sailing boat) on the Nile River
  4. Having some apple tobacco on a traditional Shisha
  5. Feeling the success of bringing a vendor down by 70% when shopping souvenirs
  6. Getting a “Not on the street” advise by locals when I gave my girlfriend a hug
  7. I’m not a museum lover, but the Tutankamon Section of the Egyptian Museum was absolutely amazing
  8. Observing Islam in practice, when all over the place people knee down at six towards the east for the eveing prayer
  9. Having a relaxing day at the beaches of the Red Sea
  10. having so much fun at egyptian airports (a audio demonstrationg it will follow)
